One kiss could be the last

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever.
Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.
This was by far my favourite Jennifer L. Armentrout book the plot was amazing and the story never let me down. I found this book a little reminiscent of the Lux series in a few spots that didn't bother me at all. I love how even in a made up world Jennifer still puts in enough references to make the average person giggle I found I laughed at the supernatural reference the most as that's my favourite tv show.  I love the fact that the secondary characters had development I usually dislike when there just names in a background it's rather frustrating but I liked Layla's friends. I loved the world building  and the plot twist just kept coming . I loved Roth from his spiky hair to every inch of the dragon tattoo, he had bark and bite and being a demon he had redeeming qualities that I loved. I also found myself absolutely loving Bambie Roth's snake tattoo her personality was larger hen life while doing very little . Zayne came to life within the second half of the book and I found myself being torn between the two main men I haven't made up my mind who's the better guy but I loved Roth more for Layla :)

Layla our main character is a half demon half warden which is a gargoyle . The wardens are sanctioned to destroy demons but the public thinks they just lock up bad guys Layla does a job
for the warden by tagging demons lighting them up like a Christmas tree. While doing this she meets Roth.

Roth is a beautiful tattooed hunk who ends up saving Layla's ass more then once. We find out theirs more to this guy then meets the eye he's a demon an upper level demon and she's the reason he's topside. The sparks fly immediately between the two but in true J,L fashion Layla denies her feelings till the bitter end.
There's also happens to be her some what adopted brother Zayne who's the son of Abbot the head of the warden clan that took Layla in.  Layla's been in love with Zayne since forever but she couldn't kiss him without sucking his soul which is a real problem for Layla. Tasting souls makes Layla sick
it's the warden in her rejecting the demon in her.  Layla thinks Zayne doesn't love her because of what she is and not what she isn't. But Zaynes has loved her forever too.

All in all White hot kiss is an amazing beginning to what I think is going to be a new favourite on many people shelves. I gave this book 5/5 I loved it I didn't dislike anything and it was so quick to read I will be sitting on egg shells waiting for November and the next in the series
